My name is Rita and I am asking for support for my dear friend, Stephanie Goertz. She is one of my closest friends and needs your help. Stephanie has been a nurse for 35 years, and has dedicated her life to helping others. She worked at Albany Medical Center Hospital and in my opinion, was one of the best ER nurses ever. A single mother, Stephanie was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4C colorectal cancer with metastasis in June, following an exploratory surgery for abdominal pain. This surgery led to a devastating loss of digestive function, further weakening her immune system and severely limiting her ability to obtain the nutrition crucial to her fight for survival. Now unable to work, with no income, her disability benefits have run out, and her medical insurance has been terminated. She must now cover her health insurance through COBRA, which costs $1001.56 per month, to continue life-saving treatments.
