My name is Stacey Barton and I have been a cat rescue volunteer for about the last 15+ years. I've always loved and cared about animals. I learned about TNR (trap-neuter-return) many years ago while I was volunteering at a local animal shelter. I was intrigued and got involved. There are only a handful of volunteers who do this work. Spay & neuter surgery is not free and most local animal controls do not offer this service to residents, so the financial burden falls on rescue groups and individual trappers like myself. Grant funds are very hard to come by, and when someone does secure a grant, it is often small and runs out quickly. There are a couple of clinics that offer low-cost TNR services ($45-$85/cat) which includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine and distemper vaccine. However, I often come across cats or kittens that need additional medical services because life outside is hard. The most common conditions I see are upper respiratory infections (sometimes so severe eyes need to be removed), bite wounds, dental disease, flea infestations, broken legs, kidney disease and ringworm. Your donations will help me continue to help the cats. My TNR work means I can help reduce the suffering of outdoor cats even if it's on a small level. And while I can't help every cat, I'll help as many as I possibly can.

Right now I am trying to raise funds for my TNR efforts which will start next week, as well as funds for Miss Jinx who needs a dental for level 3/4 dental disease (~$800). She came from a hoarding situation that was both unhealthy for the cats and the humans living in the house. I will be removing more friendly cats from the house this year.
