WATCH ME SHAVE MY HEAD, LIVE!
(Keep reading to find out why...)

On July 2, 2019 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. It is known to be the most aggressive form of breast cancer.  That night, I couldn't sleep.

I was shocked, stunned, and numb.  So I did what anyone else would do and I turned to Instagram.  I began searching the hashtag, #breastcancersurvivor.  I wanted to see who was part of this new club I had just joined.

Of the 319,000 posts, one woman stuck out.  Her name was Michelle (Chelley to her friends).  She didn't look sick.  She looked strong, healthy and vibrant.  She was in a gym, wearing boxing gloves with a punching bag behind her.  Other hashtags under her photo said, "#bowdowncancer #nochemo #noradiation

Immediately I wanted to know more about her because I knew that I didn't want to pursue conventional chemotherapy or radiation and rather wanted to heal with natural alternatives.

The conventional doctors recommended 53 weeks of chemotherapy and a clinical trial of immunotherapy, plus 8 weeks of radiation.  If I'm being honest, I just didn't believe that I'd thrive spending a year of my life getting loaded with lethal toxins.  Especially when I knew there were other options...

So I stalked Chelley's IG feed, trying to figure out her story and healing plan based on her photos and captions.  Finally,  I slid into her DM's (like a total crazy person).  Normally I wouldn't message a random stranger and share my whole life story, but this was different.

MY LIFE WAS AT STAKE.

Chelley responded the very next morning (remember I messaged her at about 3am) and my alternative healing journey began.  She told me how she had gone to a hospital in Mexico for alternative treatment, how she became cancer free in less than a year, and how today - a year later - she was thriving, healthy and happy.

I wanted in on that.

Chelley generously spent hours on the phone and in text messages answering all my questions, sending me resources, and helping my husband, Dakar, and I figure out how we wanted to move forward.

On July 23, 2019 Chelley drove 2.5 hours to Jacksonville, where I live, to meet me because she said, "I just felt like I had to be there before your surgery."

That's the kind of heart this woman has. (Keep reading, I promise I'm going somewhere with this...)

On July 24, 2019, the tumor in my right breast was removed and on August 3, 2019 I arrived at CHIPSA in Mexico.

For the first time since my diagnosis, I felt like I could breathe.

I knew that spending 3 weeks as an in-patient at CHIPSA was going to be life-saving for me, just like it was for Chelley.  But it came at a significant cost.

A 3-week, in-patient stay at CHIPSA is $33,000 ($35,000 with some additional treatments).  There's no payment plan and no insurance covers it.

On top of that, to significantly reduce the risk of recurrence, we're supposed to go back every 3 months in the first year to get another round of out-patient treatments.

The cost of these outpatient treatments is approximately $6,700 PER WEEK and it's ideal to stay 2-3 weeks to get the maximum benefit.

I'm planning to return in Nov/Dec 2019 and I don't want to go without Chelley.  She hasn't been back to CHIPSA since her first visit more than a year ago because she can't afford it.

Friend, we NEED these follow up treatments.

4 out of 10 women diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer will have a recurrence within 5 years.  And conventional doctors tell you that if a recurrence happens, there's nothing they can do for you.

That's where the idea for the "Donate to Spectate" campaign comes in.

While the conventional doctors will say there's nothing they can do, there's something YOU can do to help make sure we're not part of that 4 out of 10.

You can make a donation, in any amount, right now - because every dollar counts.

And because I believe in exchanging value for dollars, I thought it would be fun to invite you to be part of the, "DONATE TO SPECTATE EXTRAVAGANZA!"

Although I didn't do conventional treatment, the stress on my body from the alternative treatments has caused my hair to fall out at an alarming rate (this happens in some instances - lesson: alternative doesn't mean easier; it means different).

That's why, for those who donate to our cause, I'm inviting you to join me LIVE and watch as I shave what remains of my hair.

The main goal is to raise $25,000 which would cover the costs for Chelley and I BOTH to go for a second round of treatment at CHIPSA.

But, IF WE RAISE $10,000 by Monday, September 9, 2019, I WILL SHAVE MY HEAD LIVE!!

All donors will receive a secret link to watch the show.

And because I believe in full transparency, an itemized report of receipts will be published on my website (RachelLuna.biz) in January 2020 after we get back from CHIPSA to show you where your money went, down to the penny.

Friend, please make a donation now and help me bring my friend Chelley with me to Mexico.

THANK YOU so much for your time & generous donations.  It means the world to me.

xoxo,

Rachel Luna
