Help Sophia’s Recovery – A Young Mother’s Struggle
Sophia De la Rosa Toro is a 25-year-old mother of two young daughters, Valentina (5)
and Catalina (4), who has always worked tirelessly to provide for them. Now, she faces
her greatest challenge yet recovering from a severe spinal injury that has left her unable
to walk unassisted.
Two years ago, while working part-time, Sophia suffered a herniated disc from lifting
heavy luggage. She underwent surgery to address the injury, and after months of
painful therapy, she had no choice but to return to work full-time to support her girls.
Unfortunately, the physical strain took its toll, worsening her condition and causing
excruciating pain and loss of sensation in her right leg.
On February 17, 2025, Sophia underwent emergency surgery once again for what
doctors described as “the largest herniated disc they had ever seen in 20 years.” Now,
she is facing a long and difficult recovery, unable to work, and in need of specialized
rehabilitation.
Why Your Help Matters
Sophia’s medical bills are mounting, and her family needs to secure a handicap-
accessible home for her recovery. Without income during this time, the financial burden
is overwhelming.
Sophia has always put her daughters first. Now, it’s our turn to stand by her.
