Hey there, my name is Jessica, mostly known as Slurku.

I'm a diabetic freelance artist who's been drawing for as long as I could pick up a pencil, and freelancing officially since 2016. I've also been part of the furry fandom since 2016.

I'm currently seeking help financially with overall just living and surviving day to day. Once upon a time I was able to nearly live off the funds from commission work, now I'm lucky if I get even one icon commission a month.

While medical bills are taken care of thanks to pretty decent insurance and I do get foodstamps they are under $200 and do not fully support me with the high cost of food. I find myself having to pay for groceries out of pocket by the last two weeks of each month. I've been having to relay on my partner who does have a 9-5 but it's also preventing us from saving up for an apt.

A month ago my father was diagnosed with dementia and I'm the sole care-giver for him. I do not get paid nor am I receiving help. I have reached out to my family for help but everyone is either too busy with their own lives or simply do not care. My siblings who are much older than I and establish are MIA. Due to this I cannot get a job to help out as he cannot be left alone, and I can barely do a job online long enough as I'm going to at least two-three doc appointments a week. I seemingly have no life and I want to be able to survive and save funds for a place for when the inevitable happens.

Should my father's needs exceed the care I can provide I want to at least have my own place to live in and not be displaced when and if the state takes him. We live in subsidized housing and I only live the way I am able, because of him.

I currently lack a car, so having to spend money on rideshares/bus have been a damper on my pockets as well, but necessary to get my dad and myself to our doc appointments or to get medicine/food etc.

The stress from all this have been affecting my mental health; scared for the future and what will happen to me if something happens to my father. And I just want to be okay. My creative out-put has declined unless it's work related and I desperately want to get back to being the artist I once was.

My partner lost his job, our main source of income.

Amazon prime ( needed to receive pet goods and toiletries among other things to reduce transportation cost) $16

Totaling to: $1,397 a month and $4,191 for three months. (Any excess is cushioning and put away in savings. Or the start of a savings because I have none.)
