Hi, my name is Sierra. I am a 31-year-old female. On May 3rd, 2021, I was walking to my car and I was shot at 18 times, and 4 of the bullets led to me being paralyzed. I was airlifted to Memphis, Tennessee. While being airlifted, I was unresponsive multiple times. They operated and were able to recover 3 bullets, and one remains lodged in my back. They could not remove the bullet from back, because it could have been fatal or I would have been paralyzed from my neck on down. When I awoke, the doctors told me that I have a shattered T-7 -L5 and continued to tell me I would be paralyzed for the rest of my life, and they told me I had a 0% chance of recovering my ability to walk due to the trauma my body endured.

I have battled with depression and suicidal thoughts since my injury. I was angry at God and not understanding a lot. I’m like who wants to live like this? I had my aunt asking me “where is my faith?” I Thank God for my daughter she was my reason to snap out of it. I knew I couldn’t leave her. I started praying everyday and leaning into him more. It was a struggle to keep the faith but everytime my faith got low he showed up letting me know “I AM STILL HERE.”

They also told me I would be bedridden for the rest of my life, needing 24/7 care. Today I sit up active and dancing 24/7 and get myself dressed and transfer by myself. I am not Bedridden anymore, BUT GOD.

In November 2023, I hit my leg with a back scratcher and it moved. I thought nothing of it but continued to do so, which led to HOPE. I then got into therapy and the therapist put an electrical stent on my leg and my legs reacted to that, which resulted in movement. I wasn't able to finish getting treatment. With no hope of further treatment, I continued to practice things I learned in therapy. One day, I got a reaction in my toes in 2024. I have been experiencing tingling sensations and other reactions in my lower extremities from water, heat, throbs, cold, etc.

I called the No.2 ranked hospital TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, TX, and I was able to speak to someone who could help me. The kind lady listened to my story and gave me an appointment for December 2024 to be evaluated for their inpatient program, BUT GOD.

However, since I do not reside in Texas. I need help. Due to my condition, I don't have a job and will need support from anyone willing and able to donate to my cause. I believe in my faith with Christ and I know God has the final say so. Believe with me and thank you I AM #wheelchair2turnt
