My name is Sherena and my baby was diagnosed with right sided CDH. We are needing help with our bills as I'm staying at the hospital with the baby and my husband is the only one working and caring for our other 8 kids at home. Where I am is 3 hrs away from home and he comes up when he is able to, to bring the other little ones to see me. This has been a journey since May 12th when I relocated to the hospital to have a FETO balloon surgery done to help our babies survival rate. When we started this his lungs were only at 8% so he didn't have a chance at all without trying this procedure. I got the balloon placed on May 12th, everything went good until May 27th and my water broke. I still stayed pregnant but needed a blood transfusion due to loss of blood since I also had placenta abruption. Once everything calmed down I stayed pregnant until June 21st I started having contractions. I was put on Magnesium and had to go in for a procedure where they pop the balloon that was placed in the baby's airway since he can't be born with that in there. June 22nd at around 5am the nurses came in and said we're going to prep you for a c-section and deliver your baby because he keeps having decelerations. So he was born that morning at 8:57am. Right sided CDH is more complicated due to his liver being on that side and his was all the way up to his collar bone. Once he was born I didn't get to hear him cry they immediately had to intubate him. He was stable enough 2 days later to have his CDH repair. He is recovering and doing a lot better. With me being at the hospital with him it leaves us with 1 income. Not only do we need help with bills but to also buy things for the baby like a car seat clothes everything since we didn't know what to expect with his diagnosis. God had other plans for our little guy and being faithful to him he has been showing miracles.
