Hi! My name is Shelby. I have 4 grown sons, a 7-year-old daughter, and I'm raising my almost 2-year-old granddaughter. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer on February 28, 2023. I've gone through 12 tumor removal surgeries, BCG infusion that caused sepsis, and many rounds of intravesical gemcitabine. My last surgery and PET scan revealed that I now have another very aggressive cancer in my bladder. My cancer has caused damage to both of my kidneys. I have to have my bladder removed ASAP to prevent further damage to my kidneys as well as prevent this new cancer from spreading to other organs. I will be having a radical cystectomy on June 23rd and will be out of work for around 12 weeks. I will have a loss in income during this time but the bills will continue to come.
