***Update***

The journey continues. Now that I have completed Radiation and Chemo, I have immunotherapy once a month for the next 2 years. The treatment causes your immune system to go into over drive and help my body directly fight the cancer cells and shrink the tumor as well. The next scan will not be for several more months to see what progress we have made. If you have met me you know patience is not one of my virtues. LOL I have healed from the radiation and chemo and can eat again. Unfortunately I still fight to maintain weight as I I still don't eat like I used too. I had a vocal cord injection last week to get my voice back after the tumor paralyzed it. I did have a voice for a few days but think I might have pushed it too quickly and now I am hoarse again. OOPS. The next biggest step is to figure out how to manage the bills. Today we were smacked in the face with one of the highest ones yet. This one alone was for just shy of $6000 out of pocket. I have already met my deductible and max out of pocket for this year so we will be getting more bills equal to the one above. My mind, body and soul are so so tired and I don't have to tell those that have been on their own journey where that takes you. We are not ones to typically ask for help but here we are asking just that. If you can help great, if not, we understand in these trying times. Once again I simply ask that if nothing else can you please share my journey to others or maybe just a prayer. I am on quite the roller coaster these days.Chuck and I are quite the pair I tell you!! ***Update***

Shawn had his first CT scan since finishing Chemo and Radiation. We received some good and bad news from the scan and will be meeting with the doctors again for further treatments. The scan showed that the mass and tumor have shrunk significantly which is the good news but the mass and tumor remain so additional treatments will be coming soon. Unfortunately this means additional costs as well as due to the fact that the deductibles and max out of pocket started over on January 1st so we are looking at another $10,000 in medical bills. The first round was a very hectic road but he made it through and is now healing from the radiation as it has caused some damage to the throat which resulted in issues with eating solid food without a lot of pain. He is hanging in there and will push to get through whatever comes next. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. God Bless you all !!

He continues to stay strong and positive through the Radiation and Chemo treatments and is hoping to push the cancer into remission. He continues to go to work everyday after Radiation treatments so that helps as well to keep some normalcy in life.

If you or anyone who has dealt with cancer or had a family member that has, realizes this is one of the most important things to maintain to beat this terrible disease. With your help he can at least take care of the burden of these mounting medical bills and concentrate his energy to beating the cancer.

If anyone truly knows Shawn, he has always been there to help out anyone who simply needed it and never asked for anything in return except for maybe a thank you.

Just hoping to give Shawn the help this time as he has given to so many others.
