Hello friends and family,
My name is Shannon Levine, and I am currently in my second year of medical school. I am reaching out with gratitude and hope as I prepare to participate in an international outreach program in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This program is dedicated to serving underserved communities that have limited access to essential care and resources. It’s an opportunity for me to contribute my skills to make a real difference while gaining valuable experience that will shape my future as a healthcare professional.
There were only a limited number of scholarships offered, and unfortunately, I didn't receive one. At the same time, I am working hard to prepare for my upcoming board exams, which requires a significant investment in study materials over the next year. Medical students spend thousands of dollars preparing for Step 1 USMLE and COMSAE, with the exam itself costing almost $700 to take. With my husband currently between jobs, we’re facing the challenge of juggling loan payments, board prep costs, and mission trip fees all at once, and we are trying to avoid taking out another loan. Any contribution you can make would not only help ease our financial burdens but also enable me to serve communities in need and further my education. Thank you so much for your kindness and support; it truly means the world.
