Help Shane Kubinski in His 2nd Battle Against Cancer:
My name is Denny Pizarro (In cooperation with Gregory Johnson) and I am starting this fund raiser for Shane Kubinski. He is a lifelong resident of Batavia, Illinois and a graduate of Batavia schools.
Shane is one of my son’s best friends from high school and has been like a second son to me for years. Shane needs your help now.
Shane’s Story: In January 2023, Shane was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma following several months with a very nasty cough. It was a devastating diagnosis for a young man in his thirties. In February 2023, he began his treatments with PET scans, biopsies, bone marrow biopsies, and blood tests followed by 6 cycles of Chemotherapy that lasted for 6 long months. Shane could not continue working during his treatments; however, his employer was generous enough to pay his insurance while he navigated his course of treatment. What an amazing relief that was for Shane. Despite that, his bills were piling up and his deteriorating finances were a continuous source of anxiety and depression for him.
In July 2023, Shane finished his treatments and his PET scans were clear. He was cancer-free! He not only had reason to celebrate his clean bill of health, but he soon landed his dream job at Fermi Lab in Batavia. Things were really looking up despite still having thousands of dollars in medical
bills.
Shane had follow-up PET scans in March 2024 and June 2024 which showed the possibility of the cancer’s return. He had an invasive biopsy in August that required 2 weeks of recovery!
He received the devastating news that the cancer had indeed returned. This was unexpected and demoralizing news and Shane is now facing so many unknowns. His team is working on his treatment plan, which will most likely include Stem Cell
Therapy.
Shane needs help now. He stills has bills from his last round of treatment, his truck is old with no heat and winter is right around the corner.
Additionally, Shane faces months of lost wages as he undergoes a new course of Chemotherapy, hospitalizations for stem cell replacement, and uncovered medical expenses. Right now, Shane needs his strength to fight this cancer, but the stress, depression, and anxiety are draining him. We
can help alleviate some of his financial stress so that he can focus all of his energy on his battle.
Please help support Shane at this most difficult time in his life. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
