Honoring Shane’s Memory and Legacy

In Loving Memory of Shane Buchholz - May 9th 2025

Dear friends, family, and supporters,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the incredibly difficult news that Shane passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family. After an unbelievably courageous battle with Stage 4 Appendix Cancer, Shane’s fight has come to an end. Though his body is no longer with us, his spirit, his kindness, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Shane was one of those rare individuals who made the world brighter just by being in it. He was a devoted husband to Marie, a loving son and brother, an uncle who always made time for his family, and a friend who would drop everything to help someone in need. His strength, his unshakable optimism, and his deep sense of integrity touched so many lives. Even in the face of his illness, Shane remained a pillar of love and resilience, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Marie, his constant source of support and love, stood by Shane’s side every step of the way throughout this journey. Their bond was a beautiful one—a partnership built on unwavering love, trust, and mutual respect. While we are all heartbroken by his loss, we find comfort in knowing that their love was a beautiful testament to what true partnership really is.

As we navigate this painful time, Marie is left with the overwhelming task of managing the emotional and financial realities of life without Shane. We are reaching out to you, their extended community, asking for your continued support during this incredibly difficult time. Marie will need help in the coming days and weeks as she faces the following challenges:

Burial or Cremation Costs: Shane’s final resting place will still need to be arranged, and the costs associated with this are an added burden during an already incredibly difficult time.

Memorial/Funeral Arrangements: As we work to honor Shane’s life, we will need support in covering funeral and memorial service expenses. These arrangements will help us celebrate the life of an extraordinary man.

Final Resting Place: The family is working to find a place for Shane to be laid to rest, and any contributions toward this would be deeply appreciated.

Reopening Perry's Home Worx: Shane and Marie shared a dream when they started their remodeling business, Perry's Home Worx. Due to Shane’s illness, their business had to be put on hold, but Marie is now focused on reopening it, to keep alive the dream they built together. The business license needs to be renewed, and there are other costs associated with getting it back up and running. Any support toward these efforts will allow Marie to rebuild what Shane worked so hard to create.

Additionally, we ask that you share any photos you may have of Shane. Whether they’re from family gatherings, fun moments, or simply everyday life, these memories are incredibly precious to Marie. We would love to incorporate them into Shane’s celebration of life to honor the man he was and the profound impact he had on all of us.

For those who are able to contribute, whether financially or by offering memories of Shane, your support will make all the difference in helping Marie navigate this difficult time. No gesture is too small, and each and every donation will go directly toward easing some of the burdens she now faces.

The outpouring of love and support we’ve already received has meant the world to Marie and Shane. It’s clear that Shane’s kindness and the love he shared with everyone will never be forgotten. We are so deeply grateful for each and every one of you who has helped and continues to stand by Marie as she faces this next chapter.

We will share more details about Shane’s memorial/celebration of life in the coming weeks, Marie is thinking within the next 1-2 months. In the meantime, please continue to keep Marie and their family in your thoughts, prayers, and hearts. Sharing your memories of Shane will help keep his spirit alive as we honor him and his incredible life.
