Story:
update from Shawn Adair 7/15/25
Hello everyone….
I’d like to take a minute and let everyone know, how amazing Shane‘s doctors, nurses & all around staff are that work there at Saint Alphonsus , Boise, Idaho. Skylar had mentioned to the Anesthesiologist that I was worried and concerned due to past family history, so she called me at home 20 minutes before the surgery to walk me through the process so I would feel more at ease. So when I say the word, amazing, I mean it ! . And then after the surgery ,recovery and CT scan, Shane’s nurse called me at home and told me the surgery went to plan and went quite smoothly and that Shane was resting peacefully back in his room in the ICU unit . A big thank you to Larry for being there when Shane got out of recovery. He needed to hear Larry‘s rough voice to wake him up. And thank you to Tiffany and her husband for also being there . thank you everyone ! Shane‘s family

Shane will be going into surgery Monday the 14th, to have his bone put back. After he is out of surgery and Shawn talks with the nurse there will be an update. They are still currently concerned about his vision, but anything is possible so fingers crossed.

Good morning everyone…..
I just spoke to Shane‘s nurse and sorry I already forgot his name, but he has been with Shane for the last 2 weeks. He did say that Shane is connecting more neurologically and can hold a conversation for a longer period of time. And Shane is in very good spirits ! so that’s amazing news.
Shane‘s eyesight is still a big concerned and he is getting more aware of that. He’s asking them to turn on the lights because he can’t see anything , which is heart wrenching to hear. But they are still informing me that his eyesight could all come back in time. We are staying positive and praying for that.
Skylar is still working diligently with the Medicaid specialist so hopefully we will hear something back soon. And again, Shane’s surgery to repair his craniotomy will tentatively take place in a week and a half or so.
Todd, Betsy and I will be back to Boise tomorrow the Fourth of July through the weekend to visit Shane.
Again, a big thank you to all of Shane‘s friends, family, and loved ones that have been visiting him.
Thank you , the Adair family
Shane was up in McCall during Memorial Day weekend on vacation when Shane fell and hit his head. They had to fly him from McCall to Boise on life flight due to traumatic brain injuries, 2 brain bleeds and a broken skull.
So far Shane has been in the hospital for over a week, with no sight of getting out of the hospital any time soon.
With Shane being self employed, we are trying to raise money to supplement his loss of income to pay his living expenses until he has recovered and is able to return to work. With his brain injury, it’s going to be a very long road to recovery.
Shane would take his own shirt off of his back, to give to anyone in HIS situation he is currently in. Shane always has a smile on face one of the happiest man alive.

I understand durning this time, everything is expensive. If you can’t donate, please keep Shane in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you.

Good morning everyone just got off the phone with Shane‘s nurse I didn’t get to talk to him because he’s having breakfast right now, but she said he was in really good spirits. She said she hadn’t seen Shane in about six days and she was impressed with how much he has improved with his vocal response, questions, answers etc. I told her I felt the same talking with him this last week on the phone. So all good things to hear he’s coming along.
And roughly in two weeks, he will have his surgery to correct his craniotomy.
Have a good day, everyone ‘ Shawn

Good morning everyone I just got a call back from Shane‘s nurse. I don’t believe I met this nurse yet. She just said there wasn’t a lot to really update on. He had his breakfast which went well. He’s been on a walk already and was working with him on some questions and answers, etc..
I’ve been texting with Amy the last couple days. She’s working on another application for a charity bed for rehab and we are just kind of letting her take the lead on that. Hopefully, we will hear something back soon.
Shane is still doing well with lots of friends and family visiting. And thank you for that. Shawn.

Today’s update Shane‘s recovery. He’s already had been on 2 assisted walks around the ICU unit, a very big breakfast and he’s been very chatty with Eddie,, Todd and myself. Shane‘s nurse said they were worried about him deciphering from day and night so they/we are trying to keep him active today so he will sleep tonight. He is also scheduled for physical therapy today out of the ICU unit. And this will be his first time doing that. All good things!!!

Update: 6/15/25 from Shawn Adair
Todd and l have been visiting with Shane for the last 3 hours. Shane has just had his lunch he was holding the chip bag with one hand and then taking chips out with the other. His dessert today was ice cream and he was holding the carton with one hand and using a spoon today. Larry brought Shane his favorite ice cream peanut butter chocolate from Tillamook. He ate the whole pint All amazing things to witness. Earlier he had speech therapy. I personally see substantial improvements since I was here last ,I believe it’s been 10 days ago. also, I was informed by his nurse Ethan today that Shane is scheduled for surgery tentatively one month from today to put back the bone from his craniotomy. He is on his way to recovery.
Again, a big thank you to all of his friends , family and loved ones for visiting with him & praying for him.
Thank you ‘ The Adair’s

Update from Shawn Adair : 6/8/25
Good morning everyone.
just spoke to Shane‘s nurse. Shane had his morning shower ,They just took a walk around the unit then breakfast. (puréed form ). So already a busy morning. I double checked and asked about the swelling next to his ear, Shane‘s nurse said the doctor looked at it and said that it was normal. Nothing to worry about.
He is still opening his eyes periodically, but still concerned about the ability to track light and finger motion so that’s a huge concern. We will know more with time. And I was told that he can hold a cup and drink from it.
The nurse said Shane is very stable and improving daily.

Update from Shawn Adair:
The doctor is still quite positive. Shane‘s mobility is better vocalizing is getting better. The Doctor is hoping in a few days Shane will be a little bit better about opening his eyes. I’m personally a little stressing over the vision part. His draining tube from the craniotomy was removed and his IV is out for now. They have been feeding him through his feeding tube Gatorade and it looks something like baby food in powdered form all mixed together.
