Hello, my name is DiDi.

I started this GoFundMe campaign for a dear friend that I’ve know for almost 30 years!! His name is Shahid Wiggins and he’s pretty amazing. If you look up hard-working, kind, courageous, generous, strong, fair, and longstanding you’d definitely find his picture! Right now, this amazing person needs the assistance of family and community so he can continue being the rock of stability for those who love him.

I am a father of three, grandfather of five (the sixth is on the way!), a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and a friend.

After all of this wonderful living,

I’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer. This is not where my story will end…

I’ve been consulting with a surgeon & a radiologist for six months or so weighing my options on the best course of treatment. After doing so, I have decided on doing radiation treatments vs having surgery because the surgery would have me down too long & I simply cannot afford to take that financial hit.

My treatments are supposed to start soon and from my research, at times, will be grueling! I am told I will be extremely weak after each session; I may not be able to work during treatment. I have insurance however, the bills are already piling up outside of those coverages.

Needing to ask for help after being very physically fit and working a very physical job the majority of my life and the thought of being down or out of work even a short time is very humbling. In this humility, I ask that you donate to my GoFundMe so I can stay on track and fight for my life.
