Donate to Serene's Japan Language Program

My name is Serene Kraker, and I live in Lake Tahoe. I attend Forest Charter and take college classes online. At school, I was presented to AFS. AFS is a program that allows students to study internationally. The person who presented to my class from AFS told us that we could study abroad almost anywhere we wanted, even anywhere in the world. Once she gave us the link to the home page, I searched for Japan as fast as I could.

I have always wanted to see Japan's landscapes, Mt Fuji is one of the many I have always dreamed of seeing in person.

I have many goals; one is to learn and explore new places that I have never been before. Another goal I have is to meet new people and make friends in places I have never been before. Also, to learn about the history, culture, and create new experiences for myself and others. As well as to learn new recipes to cook at home.

I've been working on the cost to go to the Language Program in Japan this summer. I had to go through a long interview process by AFS and then by Japan to get accepted to be considered a candidate for this awesome opportunity. I have been doing part-time jobs along with babysitting, being a junior ski instructor during the winter, and during the summer, I work at the local mini golf. Also, I am currently working on my black belt in karate.

I have created a GoFundMe account, and I hope you will consider donating on behalf of my trip. No amount is too small--I know that times are tough, but every little bit will help me.
