I am in desperate need of material support. I’m working really hard as I move into this new career and supporting myself while I do it. The amount of emotional, mental, and physical work that I’m doing cannot be overstated. It’s a lot. And I’m really struggling to stay afloat while doing CPE. I’ve already taken a leave of absence from rabbinical school, but there’s nothing else I can really drop and too many bills and needs that can’t be overlooked.
The funds you donate will:
- Help me get groceries and other essentials.
- Help me pay down credit cards, the bills for which are killing me and making it difficult for me to pay for essentials.
- Allow me to pay for things like insurance a year in advance so that it costs less in the long run.
Any extra funds will let me:
- Occasionally get acupuncture or a massage to care for my body as I do this work.
- Order takeout when I can’t cook.
- Take my niblings to the Zoo or do other family activities that will fill my cup.
- Pay for Emet to go to day care sometimes so that he isn’t suffering because I don’t have the means and I’m not around as much as I used to be.
- Help me to afford to get my car fixed up a bit so I can trade it in for a model with higher gas mileage. This will cut down on my expenses significantly now that I’m driving to work every day.
I cannot tell you how needed this support is. I’m one month into this residency and five months into my CPE education generally and each day is turning into a struggle. The other residents have spouses to support them physically and materially and even they are struggling. This work is vital and hard and absolutely the thing I’m meant to be doing in the world.
