Help Queen Get to Pop Warner Nationals!
Amelia “Queen” Smith is breaking barriers — and she’s only 11 years old.
The craziest part? She’s only been playing football for seven months. Before she put on pads and cleats, she was actually a cheerleader, but the moment she stepped onto the field, everyone realized she was something special.
Queen shared:
“When I’m at the games, everybody is surprised that I’m a girl playing football. The people I go against try to hit me harder because I’m a girl, but I just play.”
Her coach, Coach Freddie Preciado, says it best:
“Girls can play football just as good as the boys. She has the respect of her whole team. If anybody messes with Queen, they’re going to have to answer to that 11U team.”
Now, Queen and the Fort Myers Firecats have earned their spot in Orlando for the Pop Warner National Championship — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
