Hi, I’m Selena, a single, 28-year-old, full-time, hardworking, generous, and responsible person. I bought my first house about a year ago, managing at my best on my own. I like to consider myself very independent and blessed. It has been a really tough decision for me to ask for help. I have always been a big giver and find it very hard to accept help when I need it.
About a month ago, I started to feel some excruciating sharp pinching pains in my tailbone area. I have been diagnosed with scoliosis, disc degeneration, and sciatica. I’ve been on several medications that haven’t helped but only put me to sleep. Not only have I recently felt I’m losing a part of my independence by not being able to do normal daily tasks, but keeping busy has always been my source of relieving stress.
I do have one of the best health insurances through my place of employment, although I’ve been paying $75 copays for several visits while becoming drained financially and mentally. I waited a month already to be seen by the orthopedic or spine specialist. They did X-rays, which my insurance covered, but the MRI was denied to find the actual cause of my pain. I was ordered physical therapy for six weeks, two times a week, which means $150 a week, $900 for six weeks. I am unable to afford this treatment while keeping my home going and spending about $1000 for physical therapy.
I ask with the kindness in your hearts to donate so I can start physical therapy. If that doesn’t work, the MRI will be covered by my insurance after completion of therapy. I truly just want to get back to being myself so I can continue to bless others. I promise to give back, as always. I appreciate any donation, small or big.
With love, Selena Rodriguez
