UPDATE 12/16: Vanessa is recovering from back to back surgeries & is feeling better. However, all state disability & social security disability has denied all her applications & appeals could take up to 3-4months. Needless to say, she’s devastated. No income since Sept has been more than a struggle for her.

Hey all! It seems our amazing sister, hysterically funny friend & awesome coworker is in need of our help once more. Vanessa had double mastectomy in April & completed chemo for breast cancer in mid August & has been trying to adjust to her new life post active treatment. She was about to go back to work early October but her body threw another curve ball, a big regimen of new medications & now facing 2 surgeries within one week and is not returning to work until January.

Problem #1- she’s had zero income since September as short term disability ran out & NJ social security temporary disability takes 200-250 days to even complete review of her application.

Problem #2- her home. Vanessa is at great significance of losing her home that she’s worked so hard for as a 16 year ER RN.

I know we’ve helped her before….but life has thrown a completely new set of circumstances at her recently & she needs us. We’d be remiss in saying that all of our help in the spring was significant in paying her medical bills, keeping the lights on & kept life “normal” for her kids. She has exhausted all options with her home including turning in her loved Jeep for a junker to save some money.
