There is someone important to me who needs help right now. They made the brave decision to flee an abusive relationship and unfortunately, the resources and support available to them are basically non-existent. They have health issues, a pet that they love, and the current roof over their head (a vehicle) is at risk of being appropriated to their abuser within the next couple of weeks, leaving them with nothing. Their abuser has physically scarred them, drained their savings, and estranged them from countless important relationships within their family and community.

The authorities joked around with this person’s abuser after they were called to issue a warrant for assault with a weapon. This person’s abuser continually violates restraining orders in order to terrify and intimidate them. My friend needs to be able to leave the town they’re in so that they can be safe and start to rebuild their life.
