Hi there. My name is Haley. I’m the mother to my 5-year-old twins. I am currently seeking help to pay rent. My children and I are fleeing a domestic violence situation. This situation has been ongoing for some time. This person controlled who I spoke with as well as hung out with, started telling me what I could and couldn’t do on my socials, manipulated/lied/gaslit me, destroyed friendships of mine with intentions of isolating me further, was tracking me and would not rest until I was home (as he has said to me), determined he would provide for us so I would only work a part-time job despite my protests about it and I fought to get another job/full-time position.

I’m currently in dealer school to become a dealer at a casino; however, I have about 4 weeks, give or take, left before I possibly get hired on there to increase my income. I am picking up as many hours as I can at my current job and looking for another temp job to pull me over. I was granted a protection order on 3/5/25 by the judge, but with this, I was also told I am responsible for paying the rent while he is responsible for the fees when the lease is broken. We agreed that sometime around May, so I could get back on my feet financially to move elsewhere more affordable. I am exhausting all options. I have reached out to SEVERAL programs for assistance, but there is either no funding or there is a waitlist. I am already behind for March and will need help for next month as well until dealer school is completed. I already received a notice on my door to pay or vacate in 30 days on 3/7/25.

My rent is $2,225 as that is what we could afford together, but obviously on my own, working part-time (with whatever hours I can pick up) plus all of my other bills such as my car ($340), phone ($100), car insurance ($190) and so forth, I literally cannot afford rent at all. I just want this nightmare to end. I want to be free completely, I want to give my children a life they deserve, I want peace, I just want this all to be done and we can live somewhere on our own successfully. Anything helps.
