Thank you all so much for showing up to support Lexi during this incredibly difficult time. Hollie would be beyond thankful and amazed at the support system she built throughout her life, and to know she impacted so many people.

This fundraiser was created by Hollie’s niece-in-law and Lexi’s cousin, Kellsey Yova, to help support Lexi Markun. All donations are being raised directly for Lexi and her future needs.

To help ensure the funds are managed responsibly and support Lexi both now and in the years ahead, her aunt, Marcy Hogue, is helping coordinate the donations and place them into a dedicated account for Lexi. Jason and Holly Hamilton, Hollie’s brother and sister-in-law, have also stepped in to provide Lexi with a home and additional support during this transition. Together, our family is working to make sure Lexi is cared for and supported long term.

These funds will go toward Lexi’s college expenses, health insurance, living costs, and other essential needs as she navigates this new chapter without her mom.

On Thursday, November 13th, the world changed forever for Lexi Markun. Her mom, Hollie Markun, tragically passed away in a car accident while on her way to support Lexi at her volleyball tournament. This was something Hollie never missed when she could be there.

Lexi and Hollie shared a bond that was truly one of a kind. It was always the two of them, side by side. Hollie was not just Lexi’s mom. She was her best friend, her biggest cheerleader, and the person who shaped every step of Lexi’s life. She did everything in her power to make sure Lexi had a beautiful, stable, and fulfilling life. She would want nothing more than to know her daughter is cared for, supported, and surrounded by love in her absence.

Lexi just began her first year at Westminster, stepping into a chapter of adulthood she was never meant to face without her mom. With four years of college ahead of her, health insurance to maintain, and many new responsibilities suddenly placed on her shoulders, Lexi is facing an overwhelming future while grieving a loss that is unimaginable.

We are coming together to help ease that burden in any way we can. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward supporting Lexi’s education, living expenses, and essential needs as she learns to navigate life without the person who loved her most.
