Hi, my name is Jamillah. I'm a single mother of 5. However, I have lived at my house with my 2 youngest boys for the past 8 years, until the owners decided they want to sell it.

They gave us 60 days to vacate. We couldn't find affordable housing, so me and my boys have been homeless since August 20, 2025.

We have been staying at different relatives' houses and hotels. Our funds are exhausted.

The good thing is I found an apartment that I can afford. However, I'm struggling with my deposit and getting our belongings out of storage to make our house a home again for the holidays.

I never thought I would be in this position.
