Help Finn Find His Forever Home
Finn is a gentle, loving 10-year-old dog who was almost put down because his owners moved out of state. I’ve decided to give him a forever home, and I need your help with vet care, supplies, and a dog-friendly home so he can stay safe and loved.
Full Story:
A few days ago, I went to pick up some free furniture I found on Facebook—and that’s when I met Finn. He ran up to greet me, full of love and excitement, and I couldn’t resist petting him. That’s when I learned his owners were moving out of state and, because their new apartment doesn’t allow pit bulls, they were planning to put him down the very next day.
Finn is about 10 years old. He was rescued at five, but his early years are unknown. He has a small dent on his head and a damaged eye, shaved teeth, we believe he was previously used as a bait dog. But he’s otherwise healthy, calm, and incredibly sweet. He gets along with people, children, and other dogs—and he’s very low-maintenance.
I couldn’t let him be put down, so I brought him home. I originally posted Finn on Facebook hoping to find him a forever home, because I couldn’t keep him in my home long-term. My landlord won’t allow it. I had already planned to move soon but Finn won’t be able to stay with me without my landlord giving me a hard time. After receiving so much support and encouragement—including many suggestions to start a donation to help care for him—I’ve decided to give it a real shot by trying to gather up some money for a new place that will allow both dogs.
This has never been about me; it’s always been about Finn. After only a few days together, it’s clear he’s already become attached. While I know there are people out there who could give him a happy home, I know for certain he would thrive with me and my dog. She lost her brother and hasn’t played with another dog since. Her and Finn are already getting along beautifully.
I love dogs. I ran a dog-walking company in my early 20s and have fostered many dogs, helping them find loving homes. I recently moved to Florida and am starting over, but Finn has already captured my heart. He is an amazing dog, and I am committed to giving him a loving, permanent home. If we can work together to make this happen—and if I’m able to move out before the end of the year while keeping Finn—it would be a true win-win.
To help Finn stay safe and loved, donations will go toward:
• Vet checkups and routine care
• Food, toys, and basic supplies
• Pet deposits and moving costs for a dog-friendly home
Every contribution—no matter how small—makes a difference. Even sharing this post helps Finn get the second chance he deserves.
If you’d like to follow Finn’s journey, I’ll be posting updates on Instagram (@princessleahgsd).
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping give Finn the loving home he deserves
