In 2023, I became a single mom, on a single income. After more than a year, I have done everything I can to stay afloat financially, identifying the linchpin to being able to remain financially stable: selling my vehicle. Except it's not an ordinary vehicle; it's a converted van I lived in that allowed my family to save money for the down payment on the house we now live in. There isn't much of a market for them given the economy, as I am painfully learning after it being on the market for nearly a year already. In the meantime, I have depleted two retirement accounts to stay afloat, and I am out of options... I need help.
Sadly, with a low-middle-class income, I don't qualify for any subsidies or breaks... on anything. Yet, my net take-home after paying bills doesn't allow for basics like food or necessities for my toddler or dog & cats, and I've been utilizing the food bank for months. It helps, certainly, but it's not enough. If I can just get the van paid for, I can be financially independent and stable!
