Hello. This may sound cliche, but it’s taking a lot for me to do this—I don’t normally ask for help. I hate asking for it because I would much rather prefer to be the helper in situations. But I need help. It’s become urgent as this matter is affecting my roommates, our pets, and my own health and safety.

My name is Emma. I have lived in my current apartment for nearly 3 years now. Throughout all of these years, I have had to bring multiple issues to the landlord's attention: appliances that do not work, which are hazardous; black mold; mildew. As I said, it isn’t just myself who has to breathe in the mold and mildew. My roommates, animals, and I’m sure other tenants as well are all reaping the effects of these problems. I’ve asked for maintenance since February 19th, 2025, and only one thing was fixed. Laws are constantly being broken, but nothing longer term is ever done. They simply patch things up just enough for them to slide by.

On top of all of this, the landlord recently moved my stalker, whom I have an OP against—which the landlord IS aware of—right across the hall from my apartment.

When I brought this to their attention, I was given a date to be moved out by. This, along with the other issues, has left me with no other choice but to follow suit to protect myself, my animals, and roommates.

I was also recently informed that I am going blind slowly. It started in my right eye and is now at 50% loss of field of vision. They have me taking a medication to help as I was diagnosed with something called IIH(idiopathic intercranial hypertension) which is unexplained swelling of the brain, and papilledema (swelling of the inside of my eye and optic nerve). Im also on around the clock asthma medication, and on SSI for all of my medical issues.
