New Home for Amanda and Pets After the Eaton Wildfire

Donation protected
This fundraiser is for my very close cousin, Amanda, a resilient and hardworking individual who, along with her beloved dog Chapo and cat Henry, is working to rebuild her life after a devastating wildfire. While the flames spared the structure of her apartment, smoke damage has rendered it uninhabitable, and the loss of most of the surrounding neighborhood has made staying impossible.

About Amanda and Her Journey
Amanda moved into her Altadena apartment in the summer of 2023, drawn by its proximity to both the mountains and the city. The old-growth trees and small-town charm of the neighborhood made it a perfect place to call home. Sadly, the wildfire upended everything.
With a new job starting at the L.A. Arboretum on January 27, 2025, Amanda is determined to start fresh, finding a new home that allows pets and ensuring Chapo and Henry remain safe and cared for during this transition.

Who I Am and Why I’m Helping
My name is Stephanie, and I’m Amanda’s first cousin. I live in Colorado and deeply understand the stress that comes with wildfire events. I’ve witnessed firsthand how overwhelming and disruptive these situations can be. That’s why I’m stepping in to support Amanda during this challenging time.
The funds raised here will help Amanda set herself up in a new home with the essentials she needs to continue performing her job and caring for her pets.

What Amanda Needs
To move forward, Amanda needs assistance to cover several critical expenses:
Housing Costs: First month’s rent and security/pet deposits for a pet-friendly apartment near her new job.
Moving Expenses: Renting a truck to transport salvaged furniture and replacing a smoke-damaged mattress.
Basic Necessities: Essential items such as clothing, household supplies, and food for Chapo and Henry to sustain them during this transition.
Work Equipment: New work boots required for her first day at the Arboretum.
Currently, Amanda, Chapo, and Henry are staying in a local hotel, but this is only a temporary solution. Since leaving the pets unattended during work hours is not an option, finding permanent housing is an urgent priority in the coming days.
