Two and a half weeks ago, our friend and neighbor Yesenia's elderly father, who has Alzheimer's, went missing in Puerto Rico. Yesenia and Erik are currently in Puerto Rico for the second time in two weeks, working with authorities to locate him and raise awareness of his disappearance. Meanwhile, while they brace themselves for the worst possible news, they are trying to figure out what to do with his two dogs, Nena and Lupita. There is no way to bring them to Illinois as they are not fixed, haven't had shots, and are pittie mixes that aren't allowed on most airlines, but they have found a rescue in Puerto Rico that will take them indefinitely for $500 each plus the cost of neutering them. Yesenia and Erik have already been through so much with this ordeal, and the thought of having to turn the dogs loose when they leave this week is heartbreaking. Please help us give them some closure with these loved puppies so that they can focus on finding their father.
