My life has been heavily impacted by difficult events all close to each other. The result of these events is that I, Karis, and my sibling, Cal Mimi, are about to be homeless and without medical insurance.

Where you come in: I have itemized everything that we will need to successfully move both of us and all material and transfer costs, and hope to raise it with your help. I lost my job in July. I was not given proof of termination and am not able to qualify for unemployment foodstamps or health insurance as a result. While I will be opening a case with the Department of Labor, I will not be able to receive compensation for my losses for a good while as they review cases in the order they receive them.

My partner Nyx who lives in Seattle will have housing until halfway through September. My sibling Cal will have housing until halfway through August. My lease will finish August 31st. My solution is to move Cal and me up to Seattle where we will rent and work. Nyx has been offered a job with Amazon and will receive her first paycheck in a couple weeks.

My goal is to get a job offer from a grocery store, apply to an apartment, transfer Cal's medical and SSI cases to Washington, and move us up so all of us will have a home and manageable finances.

When we are settled in I plan to attend the University of Washington for my masters and pursue my goal of becoming a Research Librarian.
