Hello, my name is Jessica, and I am reaching out to share the story of my husband, Scott. He is a God-fearing man, a dedicated and loving husband. Unfortunately, Scott is currently facing a challenging health crisis. Scott was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis with Cirrhosis at the age of 17. Since January 2025, he has lost 80 lbs due to his health (non-alcoholic liver). Thus far, he has been able to manage and keep it under control until recently.

This year, my husband's Autoimmune Hepatitis has accelerated. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. As time has progressed, he was later diagnosed with an Umbilical Hernia. Shortly thereafter, he started experiencing massive abdominal bloating (Ascites) due to his liver not functioning properly. He was then on a standing order for a weekly Paracentesis at Emory. Along with his new medication, the bloating has come under control. Early August, he contracted Cellulitis in his left foot. He was out of work for over a week due to being unable to walk on his foot. His Cellulitis rapidly spread from his ankle to behind his knee. After a long hospital stay and antibiotics, the Cellulitis went away.

However, due to the state and function of his liver, the doctors recommended the next course of action is a liver transplant. His GI doctor at Emory Atlanta mentioned his MELD score being 20, with 6 being a healthy functioning liver and 40 being critical. His MELD score of 20 placed him on the national liver transplant list.

The road ahead is not just emotionally but also financially difficult. The costs associated with the transplant, including medical expenses, medications, and aftercare, will become overwhelming. We are asking for your help to ease this burden and give Scott the chance he deserves for a healthier future.

If God has put it in your heart to help, any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in our lives. If you're unable to donate, sharing this page with your friends and family would mean the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support and love during this difficult time. We ask that you continue to pray for Scott and the family as we go through this season.

With Gratitude,
Jessica
