NEWEST UPDATE, 2/28
Hey everyone. Nicole has been positively overwhelmed by the generosity, and wants me to thank everyone who has reached out to help her--whether it's through donations, shares, or the kind and supportive words that you've all messaged her.
Unfortunately, Zorro was suffering from liver failure. Despite seeming much better when we got him home, he deteriorated quickly, and was unable to eat. Nicole had to make the impossible decision to schedule his end-of-life services on 2/28. He's going to be missed so dearly.
Nicole has spent so much money on Zorro. His degenerative myelopathy, his epilepsy, and this final vet visit have maxed out credit cards and care credit. The goal amount set on this GoFundMe isn't even half of what she still owes for Zorro's medical bills. For that reason, I would like to continue this GoFundMe in hopes that it will help her pay off some of the medical debt that she's accrued for Zorro. I hope that the community can come together and help the amazing human who is Nicole
....
UPDATE: We are currently still at the veterinary center after leaving Zorro overnight. Nicole has, thankfully, avoided the cost of a major surgery for Zorro. But Zorro's liver isn't looking very good, so there are more tests being done. For now, he's been able to hold down food for a whole two hours, which is a record at this point. We're very grateful for this development and are hoping for continued improvement. Nicole and Zorro are both deeply grateful to everyone for the support they have already received. Because of all of the donors, Nicole has been able to afford these additional tests on top of everything that she's already charged and paid for. Every donation has been a blessing. I hope we can continue to help relieve this financial strain---the emotional strain has already taken such a toll. Much love to everyone.
....
Nicole and Zorro have been best friends for as long as I've known her. Zorro is her amazing service animal, and he has taken care of her for his whole life. Within the past few years, he has been diagnosed with epilepsy and degenerative myelopathy.
Yesterday, Zorro became very lethargic and shaky. He has been unable to eat, and has been vomiting whatever he does manage to get down. Nicole rushed him to a 24hr vet, hours away from home, and they have been keeping him overnight and giving him fluids. He is due for an ultrasound in the morning and a potential surgery.
Nicole would probably be upset to know that I've started this GoFundMe, but the bills just keep adding up. Carecredit can only do so much, it's getting so expensive. I saw the vet bills and the amount just keeps piling higher and higher. Nicole is so amazing and independent, Zorro is her world and she's going to do everything that she can for him. I hope that we can all help her, too! Any help that you can provide, whether it's a dollar or a share, all of the money will go towards Zorro's rising vet bill ♥️ Thank you so much for reading and much love to you all.
EDIT: if you would like to donate directly to the vet. Zorro is being taken care of at Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center in Medford The phone number is [541] 282 - 7711, option 1 for emergency department ❤️
