Hi, I'm Naomi and this is my cat Yuna. She just turned 8 this year, and a few months ago I finally got the correct diagnosis for her - she unfortunately has feline herpes, which causes her eye to flare up. I noticed her eye getting cloudy for the first time a few years ago, but unfortunately the veterinarian I took her to prescribed her the wrong medication, and ever since then her flare ups have gotten worse. I've taken her to a reputable vet, who told me that she needs to have blood work done as well as 3 different medications, including a steroid to help her immune system, and if not taken care of sooner it may lead to her needing eye surgery, which could have its own set of complications. She has lost some of her vision in her eye, and I have to be sure to clean the drainage from her eye regularly which feels like fighting a losing battle at times without the medication to help. I've been trying to get a second job to help with the expenses, but have had no luck unfortunately, and with my own medical expenses and overall cost of living I'm losing hope on ever being able to get her what she needs. I'm terrified of her situation needing surgery because at that point I know it'll be too late. So I'm turning here...I've never done anything like this before so I apologize if it sounds silly, or like I'm rambling. I just want my baby to be okay. Any money I collect will go to her medication and updated shots, and if I happen to make enough I'd love to get her professionally groomed (if I can find a cat groomer out here...)
