We are devastated to say that our little Winston is only 5 and going through a sudden medical nightmare. He really needs everyone's help. He was seemingly fine a week ago...

His right eye looked pinkish, so I took him to the vet. By the appointment time, it was very red and looked off. The vet diagnosed him with glaucoma (what?!), said he still has vision in it, gave us meds and recommended we see an ophthalmologist... I made that appointment immediately, but couldn't get him in for two weeks. By the next morning, it was even worse and obviously painful. We couldn't wait two weeks, so I rushed him to the only emergency ophthalmologist I could find, who had a frightening diagnosis - he has no vision anymore and a tumor in his little eye. The doctor recommended scans to see if it was something that metastasized and eye removal surgery. I also mentioned to her a new head tilt motion we noticed in him. She said to speak to our vet as she couldn't confirm if it was related.

The next possible appointment at our vet the next day, we got a chest xray and bloodwork. Thankfully, the chest xray came back perfect. We are waiting on bloodwork results. Our vet recommends an MRI to rule out brain tumors because of the head tilt motion, though it seems to have ceased.

Being out on disability, I have depleted all my funds already and no pet care financing will approve me. I have tried. We desperately need help to cover the cost of his MRI (scheduled Tuesday) and his eye removal surgery (scheduled ASAP). These costs could add up to $7,500 easily.

If you know us and Winston, you know he was a very happy, sweet and healthy little boy until now, and he survived his mother being killed by a truck in Texas and found his way to us here. He has many people who love him and ask how he is daily. We are confident he will pull through this and be back to his happy self with the medical attention he needs, and will be just as adorable with only one eye. He is a WARRIOR. He is WINSTON.
