Help Vidal Choon Restore Vision with Vitrectomy Surgery
Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Vidal Choon, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. I’ve recently been diagnosed with an eye condition that requires vitrectomy surgery, a delicate procedure needed to prevent further vision loss and, hopefully, restore what I’ve lost.
Why I Need Vitrectomy Surgery
Over the past few months, I began noticing alarming changes in my vision: blurriness, floaters, and dark spots that made everyday tasks difficult, even dangerous. After several doctor visits and imaging tests, I was told I need a vitrectomy, a surgery that removes the vitreous gel in my eye to treat issues such as retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, or macular holes.
Without this surgery, my vision could continue to deteriorate, potentially leading to permanent blindness in the affected left eye, as I have already gone permanently blind in my right eye due to the same issue. The news was overwhelming, but I’m staying hopeful that with the right care and support, I can regain my sight and return to a life of independence.
Unfortunately, the cost of vitrectomy surgery is far beyond what I can afford on my own. Between surgical fees, specialist consultations, anesthesia, medications, follow-up visits, and time off work, the total estimate is $4,800 USD / ~ approximately $32,600 TTD.
I am doing everything I can to cover part of the expenses, but I simply cannot manage it all alone. This is why I’m turning to you with vulnerability and hope for support.
How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to receiving the surgery I need. Here’s how you can make a difference:
Donate whatever amount you can. Even $5 can go a long way.
Share this fundraiser with your network: family, friends, social media groups.
Send positive thoughts and prayers. Your emotional support is just as meaningful.
From the Bottom of My Heart,
Thank You
If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking the time to hear my story. It’s not easy to ask for help, but I truly believe in the kindness of others and the power of community. With your help, I can move forward with this life-changing procedure and hopefully see the world clearly again.
With love and gratitude,
