My Sister Beat Cancer—But Now She Needs Life-Saving Heart Surgery

I need to tell you all about my friend/sister, Tracey. Not only is she the most endearing and selfless person I know, but she’s also among the strongest people I know.

In 2022, her world was shifted when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Suddenly, she was faced with the biggest health challenge she’d ever experienced. She had months of days filled with doctors’ appointments, treatments, and fighting the cancer, along with the side effects of the harsh treatments.

Thankfully, today I can report that my sister is cancer-free. But just when we thought she could finally breathe and start moving forward, she’s facing another intense health challenge.

The very treatments that saved her life—chemotherapy and radiation—have now caused severe damage to her other organs. She recently found out that she needs surgery for her heart, and while she is doing her best to stay strong and stay positive, the emotional, physical, and financial burden of it all is overwhelming.

Why She Needs Help

In addition to the continued physical burdens of surviving cancer, my sister is also facing a tremendous financial burden. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for surgery, hospital stays, medications, and follow-up care have left her with a medical debt. The medical bills from her cancer treatment were already a heavy burden, and now she is facing even more expenses for this urgent heart surgery.

She has fought so hard to survive, and now I want to help her focus on healing without the constant stress of medical debt. That’s why I’m reaching out—to ask for support from those who are willing and able to help in any way.
