We picked up Smokey on the side of the highway. He was dumped and was running up and down the highway looking for his family when we got him. We took him to the vet and found out he has heartworms. He's got a broken rib, scars all over him, and is very underweight. We're starting him on the heartworm treatment and we've vaccinated him, but we don't have the money to continue his treatment. His treatment for his heartworm is going to cost about $1000 and he needs to be neutered still. We're working on getting him back to health and we don't know if he has any other health issues.
