We are raising money for Rocky for the medical care that he has needed and the care he is still needing as of today.
On May eighteenth, Sunday, Rocky was taken into the emergency vet office in Denison. He had been sick a couple of days prior, but nothing that was out of the normal, so it seemed. Yes, he was throwing up here and there, but most dogs do when they eat grass and they go on about their days. But there was something quite not right. Come Saturday night with Rocky, he had thrown up a pile of blood that was so disgusting, it almost made me get sick myself. I told Rocky come morning, if he was still sick, I would take him to the doctor when I woke up. He was still very much sick. He threw up blood again and I knew I had to get him help right away. In just a matter of a few hours, he had declined more than he had the last couple of days. Once we arrived, Rocky could barely hold his head up. He was running a fever of 107. He was extremely dehydrated. After running their tests more than once, Rocky was diagnosed with PARVO. His white blood count was nearly non-existent. The white blood cell is what helps your body fight off infections; it is your immune system basically.
Rocky has been fighting since probably around the 16th of May. He has been hospitalized for the last week. They have given him fluids, antibiotics, plasma, and anti-nausea medicine to try and help him to where he is able to fight off the stupid Parvo. Every day he is improving, but it is a very, very slow process. He got to come home yesterday on the 24th, but he's still not eating and when he does, it just comes right back up. He's still on medicine and he is still using the restroom in the cage on himself. Although he's not running a fever, he is able to hold himself up a little more. He is still very sick and very weak.
I am still needing assistance in paying this vet bill back to an amazing person who stood up and was there for us in Rocky's desperate time of need. The bills for everything are approximately $2,200. However, that is not including the care that I'm still needing to give him that I am unable to do on my own. I still need help with Pedialyte, puppy pads or nursing pads for the bed, laundry soap (I've gone through almost a whole thing of laundry soap in one day since he's been home), and the wet canned food that I'm trying to give him a little bit of throughout the day that he doesn't eat.
Please, I beg everybody and anybody, if you are able to help in any way, please help Rocky to continue to get better by helping me get the things that I need and the vet bill paid in case something happens and we have to go back. He is a hell of a fighter and if he can fight through this, I can fight for him. Please, I beg you, anything you are able to help with, I greatly appreciate. You can donate here. You can also PM me if you would like to do it privately or if you would like to donate back to the wonderful, amazing person that helped make sure Rocky got good care. You can PM me and I will give you the information needed to send her way. Again, please share this, share away, donate, and most of all, pray for Rocky's recovery.
