Meet Rocket – Our Brave Little Husky
One week ago, our six-year-old Husky, Rocket, suddenly began acting strange (standing still, staring blankly, and then collapsing). We rushed him to the emergency animal hospital, terrified. By the time we arrived, he’d regained some strength, but it was clear something was very wrong.
After a long night of tests and treatment, we learned that Rocket has:
Mild mitral valve regurgitation with a minor chordal rupture (a heart condition)
A mass on his liver (this is a rare abscess that may require surgical resection)
A severe bacterial infection that required intensive care and will require 8-12 weeks of antibiotics
He spent a few days in the hospital receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, and heart monitoring. We brought him home to heal and hopefully start eating again. Despite everything, Rocket’s gentle spirit and big blue eyes never stopped shining.
Rocket was also born with a congenital paw malformation, but if you know him, you know he’s never let that slow him down. He’s been our loyal adventure buddy, our comedian, and the heart of our family.
The medical bills have already reached $7,700, with an additional cost of $500 per month for his antibiotics. This amount will increase if he needs surgery is needed to remove the liver mass or his gallbladder. We’re doing everything we can to keep him comfortable and give him the best chance to heal.
If you’re able to donate — even a few dollars — it will go directly toward Rocket’s ongoing care, medication, and possible surgery. Every share, kind word, and bit of support means the world to us and to our brave boy.
Thank you for helping us fight for Rocket.
❤️ With gratitude,
The Pinelo Family
