Left to die alone. While fighting cancer. And a legal battle.
Help Phoenix Survive.

Phoenix is a pseudonym used to protect her privacy and safety whilst undergoing treatment. Her story is real. Her identity has been verified.

Stage 4 cancer. Abandoned in divorce. No legal help. Denied support. She’s fighting for her life—completely alone.

Phoenix is in the fight of her life—not just against cancer, but against a legal system that failed her when she needed protection the most.

She was still recovering from aggressive Stage 3 cancer when her husband:

Stopped depositing his paychecks into their joint account

Began transferring money elsewhere

And then filed for divorce

The betrayal caused extreme stress. She was hospitalized twice, missed critical treatment, and her cancer progressed.

She begged the court for help.

Phoenix submitted urgent letters from her oncologist and therapist, explaining that court proceedings would jeopardize her life if forced to represent herself.

She asked for:

A 3-month stay to recover and secure a lawyer

Emergency spousal support for food, housing, and medical care

The court granted the stay but denied her emergency support with no explanation. A legal aid attorney said it may have been because she asked for the stay in the first place. A life-threatening irony.

⏳⏳ Now she’s racing the clock.

The court stay ends soon

Legal aid clinics are overloaded

She’s contacted dozens of attorneys—none will help without a $5K–$7K retainer

Total legal costs are expected to reach $15K–$20K

Meanwhile:

She goes to chemo alone

Her savings are gone

Her home and car are at risk

She is struggling to afford basic living expenses: mortgage, car, food, insurance, medication, and life-saving cancer treatments.

This is more than her story—it’s a systemic failure.

Courts often ignore emotional and financial abuse as domestic violence

Sick women are denied legal and financial protection

The vulnerable are punished for asking for time to survive

This is financial abuse. This is domestic violence. This is systemic cruelty.

Our immediate goal is $60,000 to help her survive the next 6 months.

Funds will cover:

Medications, medical insurance, and out-of-pocket life-saving cancer treatments

Legal fees to retain an attorney before court resumes

Mortgage, car payments, and car insurance

Groceries, utilities, and daily living

If we exceed our goal, we will apply funds to cover a full year of medical, housing, and legal expenses—because cancer and court battles don’t end in six months.
