Penelope needs an emergency blood transfusion with updated tests to start her first round chemotherapy for lymphoma.
We have been trying to figure out what was making her sick since the beginning of the February. After many tests and thousands of dollars with 3 different vets we found out she has lymphoma (cancer) in the stomach.
We were able to get this far and now we need help from freinds and family to help Penelope fully recover.
If you want to donate directly to her account at her oncologist at Rise Pet Health Emergency & Specialty Hospital
in Laguna Hills.
Her story,
Penelope was found as a puppy abandoned in a parking lot behind a store. She was taken home and introduced to a family and cared for. She became family throughout her early years and brought a lot of happiness to everyone she has met, especially all children.
In July of 2024 Penelope underwent a costly surgery to remove a calcium stone from her bladder which was successful. A few months later Penelope started to become more ill and yellowing started to appear in the eyes and skin. Initially vets thought there may be an issue with the liver. Penelope went through months of tests and liver medications but the symptoms were not improving.
In April she was taken to an emergency clinic in critical condition and the clinic found a mass in the upper intestines. After months of tests and thousands of dollars we finally found where the problem was. The vets suggested a new round of tests to determine what this mass is, costing the us more and more money. The diagnosis came back as Lymphoma and Penelope was immediately put on Prednisone Steroids to combat the growth.
As of now the clinic has recommended hospitalization, blood transfusion and further testing amounting to approximately ten thousand dollars.
We have is trying to get Penelope into a better physical condition so she can proceed with chemotherapy. As of today her condition continues to decline rapidly due to financial constraints from the cost of months and months of tests to get her to this point. Penelope is a member of the family. She makes a lot of Penelope happy, so we are here asking for any assistance to get her the treatment to let her live out the rest of years in peace.
