My dog has been a part of my life for a long time. He’s always been a good family pet and always loved adventuring. He would occasionally find his way out of our backyard but always found his way back. He’s a mix of a beagle, chihuahua, and a wiener dog. He’s a pretty small dog, but that doesn’t take away from his fierce personality.
One night, we noticed he was gone. It was unusual since he was never gone through the night, as my dad would always feed him around that time. We searched for him outside in the pitch-black neighborhood and saw no trace of him. We started to worry, but we gave hope to our dog, thinking he would come back home by the morning.
The next morning comes, and he still wasn’t home. Now we were really starting to worry. One of my dad's workers came into our home and broke the news to us that he was severely injured. He was laying helplessly on the street with large wounds that were gushing out blood. He had a bone sticking out of the side of his rib, and his fur was covered in scars and flesh. We got him to an emergency vet immediately. We rushed him, and they took him. We waited patiently while they worked on him. They gave us the news that he had one broken rib and had to go through surgery. He was released the next night.
He would barely walk, and he couldn’t raise his head up. When he walks around, his head bangs into the wall since he can’t see. He is struggling to breathe, and all he can do is lay down. We give him medicine when needed and give him water through a plastic syringe. We give small pieces of food since we are scared that he’ll choke due to his inability to move his head.
To our background, we really don't have much money for the surgery since it is pricey. We’re not a typical wealthy family, but we would do anything for our dog. All we ask from this is for a little help to one of our little members of the family. Thank you.
