Hi my name is Adriena and I got Oliver 10 years ago. He was about one when I got him so we think he’s about 11 years old. He was doing fine until last year his pupils started getting big and then his eyes got cloudy. He was diagnosed with glaucoma earlier this year and has been taking eye drops to manage the pressure. Sometimes he’s in a lot of pain
and doesn’t want to be touched really and he won’t eat when he’s like that. He also recently developed an ulcer on the surface of his eye that the vet thinks isn’t healing properly. We can only manage the pressure from the glaucoma, as it is an incurable disease. His eye may have to be removed which is a very expensive procedure. He seemed to be doing better with the new antibiotic drops they gave him but that changed today. He isn’t really moving and didn’t eat today. The emergency vet suggested a $400 bloodwork test and $150 eye test. We cannot get the full bloodwork done, just checking his electrolytes and kidneys to make sure he’s stable enough to see the regular vet, where it will be cheaper. Vet care is extremely expensive especially when you have no idea what you’re dealing with. We would really appreciate any help we can get!!
