UPDATE: Missy needs a neck brace. It’s $800 and coming from Australia since they don’t make what she needs here in the states.
We still need donations to help buy her this brace. She is still stumbling and falls down a lot. More X-Rays are needed to determine if any other abnormalities are in her spine. She seems weak in her legs and wobbly. She is a fighter tho and wants to jump and play, but she isn’t allowed to do that.
On a good note, scar tissue is building up in her neck which could help stabilize her neck better. Will the brace be needed forever? That is unknown at this time. So we are still desperately needing donations. Every little bit helps if you can spare a few dollars.
This is Missy. She is a 20 lb AussieDoodle. She is 10 months old. Friday night, she was in the front yard with my husband going potty before bedtime when some strangers walked by and startled her. She spun around and yelped, running to my husband for help. He picked her up and brought her inside and gave her to me to comfort her. She curled up and started shaking.
The next morning (Saturday), she wouldn’t jump up on me like she always does as part of our routine. I picked her up and put her in my chair with me where we give kisses and I scratch her itchy spots. Not this time though. She yelped and curled up. My husband took her to Bridger Emergency & Specialists in Bozeman, MT. They examined her and determined that she needed to see their neurologist on Monday morning for further testing. My husband brought her home and I held her until bedtime.
This morning (Sunday), I said “Good Morning” with no response. She wouldn’t get out of bed no matter how much I tried coaxing her. I called the Bozeman Emergency and told them she couldn’t walk to me. They said bring her in ASAP. They told me they will keep her overnight and keep her comfortable until she can be seen by the neurologist. Saying “See you later” was so hard. All I wanted to do was comfort my little fur angel back to health. I gave her hugs and kisses and left her in their hands with her favorite blanket and drove home brokenhearted. BTW, it’s hard to drive with tears.
The bill they showed me was going to be roughly $1200, NOT including what the neurologist has to do tomorrow, which could be $3000.
Missy needs help and we want to give it to her. Please help us if you are able.
