Friends, Family, Co-Workers, Those I Haven’t Met,

I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. On April 26, 2024, my beloved brother Jeff passed away from a traumatic brain injury. It is the hardest thing that my Mom and Dad have gone through. His loss has left a profound void in our lives, but his spirit and memory continue to inspire us every day. In his honor, I have decided to run in the 2025 New York City Marathon on November 2 and raise money to donate to LiveOnNY, an organization dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation.

Known for his deep love for family and friends, Jeff had a big heart and consistently prioritized others’ needs over his own. He enjoyed golfing, spending time near water, riding his BMX bike, and listening to punk rock bands. Jeff was also known for his outlandish observations and unapologetic viewpoints, which often provided a unique alternate perspective of the world to himself and others. His gift of gab allowed him to connect with people and shape their ideas. Jeff's big heart beats on in this world through his gift of life donation. There is comfort knowing that he is here, somewhere.

LiveOnNY's mission is to help those in need of life-saving transplants and to support families during their most challenging times. Their work is crucial in providing hope and a second chance at life to countless individuals. By supporting this cause, we can make a significant impact and help ensure that more lives are saved, and more families are supported. The same support that my family and I received at one of our lowest moments.

Running the New York City Marathon is a personal challenge that I am undertaking in memory of my brother Jeff. He was always a source of strength and encouragement to me, and I know he would be proud of this endeavor. Although at the same time, he would probably call me crazy for running 26 miles. As I train and prepare for the marathon, I am reminded of his resilience and determination, qualities that I hope to embody throughout this journey.
