Donate to Save Little Charlie's Life

Hello, everyone! My name is Charlie and I was a happy, very energetic 3-month-old Miniature Schnauzer puppy up until last week. All of the sudden, I had no energy and didn’t feel good at all. My new owners took me to the vet right away.

The vet took blood and diagnosed me with a congenital liver shunt. They told my owners that my little liver is not functioning properly to rid my body of toxins, as it should. The toxin buildup is causing me to feel weak, lethargic, and can lead to neurological issues, if left untreated.

I am back with my breeder now, in hopes of getting healthy and possibly returning to my owners. I’m currently taking three different medications and eating as much as I can (I don’t feel like eating sometimes). My breeder has to give me fluids through an IV, or orally with a syringe, often because I don’t have enough energy to drink myself. In order for me to feel better, and to fix this issue, I have to have surgery. :(

Because this isn’t a regular procedure, I have to go to a specialty clinic at The Ohio State University. My breeder wants to give me the best chance to live a long, healthy life. Unfortunately, my surgery could cost over $10K.

We are asking for any contributions to help lessen the out-of-pocket cost of my life saving surgery. We thank you for any donations that will help me get better.

Love, Charlie
