Please help Justin Merritt get a new heart. My name is Andrea Merritt and I have been married to Justin for 25 years. He is the love of my life and he needs a heart transplant. At the young age of 35, Justin suffered a massive heart attack (LAD aka widowmaker) and nearly died. He beat the odds and survived; however, his heart suffered tremendous and unrecoverable damage. His heart ejection fraction was cut in half, but he managed to thrive for 15 years by taking up cycling. His dedication to his cardiovascular health kept symptoms at bay, until now. His ejection fraction is a mere 10%. He was hospitalized on May 29, 2025, for tests and after a detailed evaluation, it was determined that the only option to keep Justin alive is a heart transplant. Those two words, "heart transplant," were a gut punch and our lives have been turned upside-down.

Justin is on disability leave from his employer, Cencora; however, he has reached the point where his pay is heavily reduced. Soon we will also have to pay the full insurance premiums. Never in my life did I think I would be creating a GoFundMe to try to save my husband's life, but here I am.

Justin is home now after 18 days in the hospital and is stable at the moment, but on a very dangerous IV-infused drug. He will have a long and difficult road to recovery and will face significant medical bills.

All money received will be used to pay monthly bills (mortgage, etc.), insurance premiums, home health nursing, and assistance with dog walking. Any amount will help tremendously.
