I'm raising funds to purchase a new 7-foot bownet that has proved crucial in capturing injured and sick wildlife.
Some history: I have a PA Game Commission permit for the capture of injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife. A few years ago, I asked a firm that manufactures 5-foot bownet devices that we had been able to use successfully in capturing small waterfowl whether they could design a larger one for use catching Canada geese and turkeys. It took them a year to come up with a design that worked, but they did an awesome job. Not only have I and fellow volunteers been able to use the bownet for these larger birds, but they also proved to be literal lifesavers for injured and sick foxes, who are notoriously hard to trap otherwise.
Well, earlier this year, an irreparable accident befell the existing bownet, and a situation that was brought to my attention this week has pushed me to fundraise for a new one. We honestly need a new bownet asap. Why do they cost so much? Their design is very intricate, enabling them to lie flat, and they come with a remote control device. Believe me, the many, many animals we have been able to save with these nets say it's worth it. Please chip in if you can!!! You can see the page presenting them here (goal amount includes part of shipping cost): https://www.mikesfalconry.com/product/tri-fold-7-foot-bownet-manual-or-remote-control-you-choose/
