Hercules is a 3-year-old, 90-pound friendly and playful Pitbull who is apart of loving family of 3. Hercules in his yard confronted from what we believe was a nest of snakes which bit him all over his chest. At first, we didn’t know what happened but then saw the bites and discoloration as time past when he was at the vet. We thought he was sick. But then we saw his neck, chest and leg starting to stiffen and get blue.

Hercules is facing severe skin necrosis and underlying cellulitis, leaving him at a high risk of infection due to the extent of his injuries. These symptoms are caused by necrotoxins that damage the soft tissue and muscle. His recovery will be a long and difficult journey. The veterinarian believe that hyperbaric chamber treatments offer the best chance for healing, as they help reduce inflammation and could potentially reverse the necrosis.

The Doc immediately put Hercules on two pain medications, Rimadyl SP and Tramadol, along with a 3 different antibiotics to help aid his recovery. Throughout all this, the dog did not have the strength to get up or eat or drink and was vomiting and crying throughout the first week of treatment. All the skin on his chest and rib cage started falling off and are now worried that his right front leg is next.

Im a family friend who is the organizer for the owner of this emotional support animal. The owner is named Erick who is still currently serving in the Army. Im his mother’s friend and have known Erick since he was born. The hyperbaric treatments are costly, and if they don’t work, the skin grafts will be even more expensive. With the holidays now done and the new year just starting off these medical bills weren’t in their cards. Erick and his family work very hard… and will take this on as much as they can!
