Donate to Save Goose, CSU Parmelee Hall's Beloved Kitty

If you’ve ever met Goose, you know he’s more than just my cat.

He’s a campus icon, my emotional support animal, and everyone’s favorite surprise visitor at Parmelee Hall. Born and raised at CSU, Goose is the kind of cat who wins hearts instantly. He’s calm, curious, cuddly, and unbothered by the chaos of dorm life, which is why he was set to begin training with HABIC (Human-Animal Bond in Colorado) this fall to become a certified therapy cat.

But right now, Goose is sick and needs help.

He was diagnosed with FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease), likely caused by FIC (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis), which is a chronic, diet and stress-related condition. His first flare-up landed him in the CSU Emergency Vet Hospital over Juneteenth weekend, and Wednesday (July 9), we were back at the vet for another painful episode.

This is something he will need lifelong care for. This includes special prescription food, daily medications, and regular veterinary visits. His food and medication alone will cost around $200 each month. As a college student, I don’t have that kind of money, but I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure he gets the care he needs.

I’ve already used all my savings on his vet bills, and I’m doing everything I can to keep him stable. But if he ever gets a urinary blockage, which is a real risk with this condition, surgery and post-op care could cost over $1,000. This possibility absolutely terrifies me.

Goose has always been there for me, and for so many others. He’s comforted homesick residents, curled up with me after long days, and been a steady, loving presence in our community. If you’ve ever sat on the floor of Parmelee and had a quiet moment with him, you know exactly what I mean.

Now he needs a little help in return. If you’re able to donate, even just a few dollars, it truly means the world. And if you can’t give right now, sharing this helps more than you know.

Thank you so much for loving Goose and helping me take care of him. I just want to see him back to his curious, cuddly self again.

With love,
Ro and Goose
