I don’t like to ask for help, but for Gizmo I will. Gizmo was adopted in 2022. We didn’t know a lot about his history, but he was definitely abused and neglected. I was never a small dog person, but Gizmo stole my heart.

Gizmo has had his share of health problems. Shortly after he was adopted, he was neutered, vaccinated, and had most of his teeth pulled, followed by several other procedures for various things.

Two days ago, I noticed swelling by his eye. After a trip to the vet today ($636), we were told that Gizmo has an abscess and he needs to have surgery to have the rest of his teeth extracted. That is going to cost $1,800.

I work full-time as a mental health and substance abuse therapist, as well as attending college to finish my requirements for licensure. Community mental health, while enormously rewarding, doesn’t exactly help pay the bills.

And I will do absolutely anything to help this stupid little fluff. If you’re able to help at all, or even share this post, I would be endlessly grateful. Thank you!
